These two chapters are all about finding your argument. Chapter twelve is about setting up your thesis statement, while chapter thirteen is about the actual argument you will have about your subject.
I think that some of the information can be shifted around, so you find a statement to have and settle on an argument, then come up with your thesis after you have a specific argument to go off of. These chapters will help us keep our paper organized, and help us find where we stand with our topics. We can always look back at our thesis to keep our paper following it, and if we realize that our thesis should be different, then we can update it or change it to fit how we really feel.

Chapters 17 and 18
17.)
This chapter is all about editing your paper. This chapter tells us to make sure that all the information we use is accurate, and to make sure that we do not use unnecessary terms that are superfluous to the text. It also suggests that we keep the information constant and consistent. We need to make sure that our papers are in the same time frame throughout, instead of changing it around all the time. We need to make sure that our paper is age appropriate, so we do not sound like we are talking to babies, oh yes we do! We need to keep our paper professional and clean. A big suggestion is that we make sure that our grammar and spelling and punctuation is goods, as well as making sure that someone proofreads our paper to make sure it is in order.
This chapter is a big one on directing us on how to write well. We need to make sure that as we draft our paper over and over, we clean it up as well.
18.)This chapter is about presenting our topic. This helps us in the fact that presenting will be a part of the grade we get. This chapter more specifically talks about presenting to a class, rather then in a paper. The tips this chapter gives on oral presentations are more of the physical type, such as talking slowly and enunciating your words. This chapter also tells us that we need to have notes just in case we can not remember a part or need to refresh our memory on some details. We need to make sure that we engage our audience by making eye contact and bringing them into the conversation. If we look away, they will feel cut off and not want to engage in our presentation.
This chapter really went into great detail about presenting. I never really thought about presenting as such a lengthy process. Usually I would just go up and present my subject, without really considering how my audience felt, and without really engaging them in some way or other.
